An emotional moment: An Inga delegation was received at Mincultura to create actions focused on the elaboration of the sociolinguistic self-diagnosis, the resignification of sacred sites through toponymies (meaning of proper names of places), the unification of the alphabet and the dictionary; as well as the international meeting of speakers of the Inga language. Minister Patricia Ariza was part of this dialogue that seeks to preserve the cultural traditions and knowledge that identify this community.

All the work done by Ursula Biemann in collaboration with the Inga community of the Colombian Panamazonia are exhibited in “Forest Mind. On the Interconnection of All Life.” The works prioritize research in intimate contact with the rainforest as a great teacher and invite to value the forest as a living entity and creator of futures, as an intelligent being in its own right, in addition to recognizing indigenous knowledge and the science of yagé on par with the Western scientific knowledge system. Opening with a ceremony of harmonisation by Taita Luciano. Commissioned by the Art Museum at UNAL.

Commissioned by the Istanbul Biennial, the new video work Vocal Cognitive Territory is coproduced by Waira Jacanamijoy, Flora Macas and Ivan Vargas. The installation is the result of a common fieldwork in the Inga territory in January 2021. Anne Lacaton and several of her students speak about the experience of working on a design and research project in a far away geographic and cultural space. An Fonteyne reveals her plans for a new Summer Studio in 2022 in the territory, while Santiago del Hierro is currently establishing a hub at ETH LUS around this interdisciplinary and intercultural project. Ursula Biemann presents the work done so far in various field workshops and the online platform “Devenir Universidad.”
